Boot issue after 6.7.2 upgrade - DVB

Featured Replies

After a long delay of using 6.6.6 (yes, new user), I upgraded to 6.7.2 tonight.  I am a heavy Plex user with a TV tuner card, so I use Unraid DVB.  I used the Unraid DVB plugin to install the new OS.  Once I realized that it was not responding, I hooked up a monitor and looked to see what was going on. One huge caveat... I don't really know what I am looking for.

The tower boots and indicates that it is at OS version 6.7.2, but the IP v4 address is 169.254.101.45 (not my WAN), when it should be on 192.168.x.x. logging in and then typing "diagnostics" will start the diagnostics collection, but this is the message that I get.

Starting diagnostics collection...

Warning: file_get_contents (.var/local/emhttp/cpuload.ini) failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix/scripts/diagnostics on line 88

Warning: file_get_contents (.var/local/emhttp/diskload.ini) failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix/scripts/diagnostics on line 89

done.

ZIP file '/boot/logs/tower-diagnostics-20191003-1842.zip' created

This might be all and well, but the ZIP file is not created.

I looked on my router, and the Unraid machine is not visible.  I only have one ethernet port on that machine, but I have a WiFi card as well.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

This indicates it isn't getting DHCP. Check network connections, plugs, cables, sockets.

I can get a network connection with a laptop. The lights on the Unraid box's Ethernet port light up when I plug in the cable. Also when I load into the GUI, I cannot even load localhost.

I am not 100% sure, but I believe that the issue is that the driver for my onboard NIC is not compatible with 6.7.X.  I loaded anything from 6.7.X onto the flash drive and every time I got the same message. Once I loaded 6.6.7 it worked fine.  I'll be looking for an Intel NIC so that I can upgrade to the latest.

I doubt any drivers have been removed so if it worked before...

  • 1 month later...

The problem is with 6.7.2.  I tested fresh installs with my network card and found that 6.7.2 never connected to the network where as fresh installs of 6.6.7 connected to the network (weather it was my internal network or the one connected to the internet).  I am not sure why this issue persists nor am I sure why it effects some NIC's and not others.

I finally resolved this in a different thread because I realized it was not really a DVB issue. Sorry for not updating this thread. The issue really came down to the use of a USB 3.0 port. Once I switched to a USB 2.0 it worked perfectly.

Here is the thread
