NVM Passthrough problems

Featured Replies

Hello community,

Today my ASUS Hyper M.2 X16 Card V2 arrived so I hoped I could finally passthrough my NVMe SSD.

The motherboard I use is the Asus Taichi x399 with Threadripper 1950 and there was actually still a free slot, (PCI3). Since I could not get native speed and it recognized that slot as AMD Bottom Device and still passed it through as SCSI device with slow speeds the card was ordered.

Now I have the card it would simple be: Passthrough the card and done. The drive is recognized by unassiged devices but I cannot passthrough add the PCI ID to my PCI_Override list since both of my cache drives are also Samsung (they share the same ID).

I tried following this video from @SpaceInvaderOne:

But then it also somehow seems to take the cache drive and I am getting a read-only filesystem?!?!?

TLDR:

How can I pass either the free M.2 slot from the X399 Taichi or from the ASUS Card through to get bare metal performance on my W10 VM??
