So, I was watching a movie when it started stuttering and stopped.  Yada yada yada, it appears 2 data drives are not responding anymore.  I've stopped the array, tried smartctl on both disks, both failed with Device Read Identity Failed.  Just wanted to check in about the next best step.  Shutdown, reseat everything, startup and pray?

Looks to me like disk3 is suffering media errors (un-readable sectors)

 

You can try rebooting, but I doubt if that will fix the drive.

 

Get a smart report on it and post those results.

Okay, rebooted and it's showing disk1 as missing.  The smart report for disk3 (atttached) looks fine to me.  I guess disk1 went down and took disk3 with it.  I can't get a smart report from disk1.  So, I think I just need to replace disk1 asap.  But, first I'll take disk1 out of the 3-n-2 dock and attach it directly to the motherboard and see if that helps.
