Unraid won't reboot from GUI

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Unraid won't reboot when I hit the command on the main menu in the GUI. The array shuts down and I can no longer access the GUI, but the machine never fully reboots.

How can I find out what's causing this?

The latest versions of Unraid have a 'Syslog Server' utility.  You will find on the Settings  page in the  'Network Services' section.  Set it up to Mirror syslog to the Flash Drive.  Get the Diagnostics file   ( Tools   >>>   Diagnostics   ).  Then reboot the server.  After it hangs, force the shutdown by holding the power switch on the case.  Pull the flash drive and get the file off and post both files up in a NEW post.

Apparently, they didn't want to go through that, lol. I'm having the same issue and will troubleshoot. Why pull the flash and get the file off before the boot? Why not just grab it when the server comes back up?

Because (since the server never fully reboots), Pushing the power switch will either shutdown the server gracefully (short push) or force it to an ungraceful shutdown (longer push).  In either case, the power will be off.  That is the perfect time to remove any flash drive from a computer.
