I'd like to get a cable with metal latches - this is the cheapest one at newegg. Will it work, though?

 

And what is the extra connector with the thin grey wires for ?  Is it for hooking up LED's to a specific controller card perhaps, and does anyone know if it will cause any problems when used with the Supermicro AOC-SASLP-MV8 ?
