6.8.0-rc1

Featured Replies

I'm an early adopter, and until now have rarely had a major issue, so when I tried 6.8.0-rc1 and none of my drives showed up, I was worried my controller would not be offered going forward...

(Basically, when I rebooted, the only device listed was the NVME, all the other drives were missing, and I rebooted twice just to make sure they were detected)

Here is a list of my devices, please let me know if you're going to support the Highpoint Controller going forward, or did it get missed, or is there something else?

From the release notes:

Quote

Some out-of-tree (oot) drivers are currently omitted either because the source code doesn't compile or driver doesn't work with the 5.3 kernel:

Intel ixgbe [does not build] (using in-tree driver)

Highpoint r750 [does not work]

Highpoint rr3740a [does not build]

This is always the risk with including vendor-supplied drivers.  Until the vendor fixes their code we must omit their driver.
