jlficken
Solved: I swear I had messed with all cable and port combinations, however, I grabbed another cable and they are both at 1000Mbps now. Has anyone ever seen this before? I can swap cable as well as ports and I always have 1 port as 1000Mbps and 1 as 100Mbps. Both ports seem to work at 1000Mbps but no combination of cables or switch ports will make them both be 1000Mbps. I also noticed that with my Cisco SG250-26 switch it always lists 1 port as Standy Member with LACP enabled in both the switch and the UnRAID. If I take the switch off of LACP (ie Static) then it puts both ports as Active Member but 1 of them is still 100Mbps. UnRAID doesn't like that configuration though. UnRAID shows 1 as being 1000Mbps and 1 as 100Mbps regardless of whether I have a bond configured. I've restarted as well. root@Tower:~# ethtool eth0 Settings for eth0: Supported ports: [ TP ] Supported link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full 100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full 1000baseT/Full Supported pause frame use: Symmetric Supports auto-negotiation: Yes Supported FEC modes: Not reported Advertised link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full 100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full 1000baseT/Full Advertised pause frame use: Symmetric Advertised auto-negotiation: Yes Advertised FEC modes: Not reported Speed: 1000Mb/s Duplex: Full Port: Twisted Pair PHYAD: 1 Transceiver: internal Auto-negotiation: on MDI-X: off (auto) Supports Wake-on: pumbg Wake-on: g Current message level: 0x00000007 (7) drv probe link Link detected: yes root@Tower:~# ethtool eth1 Settings for eth1: Supported ports: [ TP ] Supported link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full 100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full 1000baseT/Full Supported pause frame use: Symmetric Supports auto-negotiation: Yes Supported FEC modes: Not reported Advertised link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full 100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full 1000baseT/Full Advertised pause frame use: Symmetric Advertised auto-negotiation: Yes Advertised FEC modes: Not reported Speed: 100Mb/s Duplex: Full Port: Twisted Pair PHYAD: 1 Transceiver: internal Auto-negotiation: on MDI-X: off (auto) Supports Wake-on: d Wake-on: d Current message level: 0x00000007 (7) drv probe link Link detected: yes Edited October 17, 2019 by jlficken Quote Link to comment
John_M
Is the 100 Mb/s one always eth1? Are the two NICs the same make/model/version? What happens if you change bonding mode to 1 (the default) and preferably connect both ports to a simple unmanaged switch? Quote Link to comment
jlficken
Sorry, I was dumb and they are both working at 1000Mbps now. I updated the OP. Quote Link to comment
