Replacing drive

Featured Replies

I am upgrading from an 1TB HDD with a 2TB HDD, I followed the directions from this site by running the Parity check, shutting down UnRaid, pulling the drive, installing the new drive, and rebooting.

This was yesterday, some 17 hours ago. There is no indication of anything going on, no lights flashing for any of the HDD (13 in all.) No server light flashing as thou it were busy, not even the Pen drive that houses the UnRaid OS. The one this that is showing, in the web browser the command area of http://tower/main.htm reads "Stopped. Upgrading disk." and the Start button is grayed out.

Is anything going on, and if so, how long does this take?

I have an 2TB Parity drive, one 500GB cache drive, 10 1.5TB drives, and now trying to replace the one 1TB drive with a larger 2TB drive running the UnRAID server pro version: 4.5.6 (I have an second 2TB drive to add once this drive is built, bringing the total to 14 drives.)

All drives with the one exception of the cache drive are WDC_WD15EARS, and WD20EARS I have never used the jumper, and have had no problems other than a crash now and then. (Maybe once every few weeks.)

Apparently you've not pressed "Start" to begin the upgrading process.... (you might need to check the checkbox under it to enable it)

It will wait for you to start the process.  So far, it sounds as if it is just waiting....  (and it will wait for a very long time ;) )

Thank you Joe L.

Something so simple that I was not aware of. I have been cautious of do much as I have read horror stories about people losing everything by doing the wrong thing. And with more than 14TB of Video, I was worried about losing that.

Thank you very much, you must live on here HAHA!!
