Overclocking help

Featured Replies

Now that my unraid server is all set up and stable I'm trying to overclock the cpu. I went into the bios and set the cpu at 4.6. Ran some stress tests in windows to make sure it was stable, then went into Unraid and installed the dynamix system info plugin and it reports the cpu still at stock speeds. Tips and tweaks is also set to cpu performance mode. Is everything just reading the speeds wrong or what's going on?

Open a terminal and type " watch -n 1 grep MHz /proc/cpuinfo " See if you are seeing the OC'ed speed

Okay so that command showed stock as well so i restarted and dialed it back to 4.5. When using that command before starting the array, it reported as 4.5. But after starting the array it goes back to stock. I read somewhere else that it could be the tips and tweaks plugin. What do you think?

Aha! Yep the tips and tweaks plugin was messing with things. All set now, thanks for the command line help, much appreciated!

Can you explain or link to where you had seen that tips and tricks interfered? I'm having my own issues with my OC where I can't start the array with an over clock or it fails.
