November 15, 201015 yr Hello, I am currently running unRAID off of a Tower and attached 8 bay external enclosure with 7 x 2TB drives. I just purchased 2 Norco RPC-3116 16 bay chassis, as well as identical components for each and 15 new 2TB drives to bring me to a total of 22. I would like to configure each box with 10 drives, 6 empty bays and leave 2 unopened drives on the shelf, in case of failure or such... My theory in leaving 6 open bays in each server is that I will hopefully be able to double my capacity at next drive purchase with 4TB drives. If I want to configure my servers to have higher protection, say equivalent of Raid6 or Raid2z, what do I need to do? I want to have 1 box as production and the other an exact duplicate for backup. My files are mostly Blu-ray ISO's, Pictures, Music and backup of our personal computers. I am seeing some blu-ray rips between 25GB to 40GB. My initial unRAID purchase was a single pro with 20 drives. Do I need to purchase a second full key for backup? Is there an upgrade? Would 1 licences cover both boxes in this case? Any advice is greatly appreciated. e
