Yes, you can. Just start over selecting a different version.

Yeah but I wanted the same version

Yeah but I wanted the same version

Ahh I see. Maybe renaming the VM, I did not try.

Renaming the vm seems to only change the xml and not anything in kvm.  I am scared to do it, seems to not be good.

Oh maybe renaming the new one when it is created...  I will try that I guess

I'm trying to get my igpu UHD 630 to work with Macinabox Monterey, I keep running into black screens after black screens.

So, i've tried numerous different ways of getting this to work, Any suggestions on how some others got this to work?

Hi Sorry to sound like a numpty

I followed the video guide ran the user scripts left everything as set in the template and got this error message when when I went to run the VM for the first time. I have not edited the xml etc.  I am trying to install Monterey onto the server so I can see if it will run the  version of Filemaker I have before I update my MacBook Pro. I do not know much about editing code so please be gentle on me.

Thank in Advance

Just an update thanks for all your advice with regards to this I was able to find out what the problem was. I had random OVMF file that was being referenced from a previous Macinabox install I had tried deleted and then forgot about and even though I used the terminal command "rm -r /mnt/user/appdata/macinabox/" this file was still hiding and I was still getting the same problem. So I used Binhex-Krusader to go through every file on my array and was able to find the offending ovum file delete it and complete the install and now have a OSX Monterey running perfectly so I can check to see if apps I use on a daily basis will migrate from Big Sur to Monterey before I do the update on my main MacBook.

I haven't gone through your config line by line but a couple of issues jumped out;
- I don't believe you can pass through a video card and keep your VNC config at the same time. The code you pasted still has the VNC XML but I don't immediately see any iGPU passthrough. It would be helpful to include your System Devices List so we know what iommu group your iGPU is in.

- You have your virtual ethernet on bus 0x01 which will break iCloud/iMessage because only bus 0x00 is "built-in"

You will find this a good discussion about bus configuration here.

After installing mac os monterey and it restarting, I don't see the option to boot to my drive just "Mac os base system' and 'installer'

Please help, thank you!
My host model: ASRock Z370M pro4, CPU: I5-8400, no discrete graphics card, only CPU core display UHD630, the plug-in intel GVT-g has been installed on Unraid, and i915-GVTg has been assigned to Windows10 VM and Synology VM Normal use. At present, BigsSur has been installed with the latest version of Macinabox, and i915-GVTg has been allocated to BigsSur. In the MAC VM, the graphics card of "intel HD Graphics CFL CRB" can be seen, but the display memory is empty and cannot be used normally. deal with? Which master has used and set up successfully?

Is it safe for me to update to MacOS Monterey from within the OS software update function? I had originally followed the SpaceInvader installation instructions for Big Sur

Excellent tutorial as always.

Though i'm stuck at the part to install the EFI files on the volumes where macOS is installed, in my case High Sierra, as in Opencore Configurator i simply don't see the EFI partitions for where High Sierra is installed.

Has anyone else run into this issue, and was able to solve it?

@Linguafoeda, i don't see why that would be a problem.

MACOS VM is installed, because my computer has a 1600*900 screen, so how to change the resolution of MACOS VM from 1920*1080 to 1600*900, after I enable root privileges in this file "/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration /com.apple.Boot.plist" added "<key>Graphics Mode</key>
<string>1600x900 x32</string> ", but after restarting the VM, the resolution is not updated, I don't know why? Is there any other way?

Hello everyone, i'm sorry for wasting your time but i try to pass my sound with my GPU and that doesn't work if someone could help me with multifonction = on that could be awesome.

And if u find some optimisation I would be grateful

Thanks again for helping each others.

You didn't mention what the actual issue is... What the VM does or doesn't do.

Just having a quick look at your config I can see the following;

      </source>
      <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x06' slot='0x00' function='0x0'/>
    </hostdev>

It probably should be;

<hostdev mode='subsystem' type='pci' managed='yes'>
      <driver name='vfio'/>
      <source>
        <address domain='0x0000' bus='0x04' slot='0x00' function='0x0'/>
      </source>
      <rom file='/mnt/user/isos/vbios/AMDRX580.rom'/>
      <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x05' slot='0x00' function='0x0' multifunction='on'/>
    </hostdev>
    <hostdev mode='subsystem' type='pci' managed='yes'>
      <driver name='vfio'/>
      <source>
        <address domain='0x0000' bus='0x04' slot='0x00' function='0x1'/>
      </source>
      <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x05' slot='0x00' function='0x1'/>
    </hostdev>

You need the multifunction option and must put both devices onto the same bus but different functions, as per the real devices.

In your case, bus 0x04 function 0x00 and 0x01 to bus 0x05 function 0x00 and 0x01.

If still no luck, have a look at my earlier troubleshooting post.

Got it running nicely with Big Sur and RX 580. Thanks SpaceInvaderOne!! I have two issues that I'm looking for help.

1. rx 580 is connected to 2 display port monitor, only one light up even in system it detect 2, mouse can even move over to the second screen. Any idea how I can go about fixing that?

2. this is not that important to me, but imessage and facetime doesn't work, it keeps logging me out right after logging in. I tried the en0 built-in fix which solves the appstore download but doesn't seem to work with imessage and facetime.

Take a look here for a detailed explanation of the tips and tricks to get iMessage etc working.

It's not as hard as it sounds.
I advise against using any OpenCore plist hacks to make the Mac think the en0 is built-in. You should move it in your VM config to be on bus 0x00 as it would be in a real Mac and you will have less issues.

It may not be initialized correctly because it is not a configuration that any Mac natively supports.

I know that you can pass options to WhateverGreen to enable display outputs.

Your best bet might be to have a bit of a look through their support pages and maybe ask the question on one of there support forums.

@Linguafoeda, i don't see why that would be a problem.

are you confident? haha don't want to screw up my install. Alternatively - what is the best way to backup my entire installation so that if it does mess up, i can just revert back to how it was pre upgrading within macOS

So QEMU is reporting that it cannot gain access to the video card on bus 0x04.

You may be hitting the AMD reset bug. It would be interesting to see if a cold reboot (turn off power at the wall for 5-10 seconds) makes it work temporarily. If so, you may need the AMD Reset Patch which can be installed as an App from the Unraid GUI. Also upgrading to 6.10 RC3 may help with stability as it has some improvements for this.
From the release notes: "Added support for gnif/vendor-reset.  This simplifies @ich777's AMD Vendor Reset plugin which permits users to get their AMD video cards to reset properly.

Also how did you go with all the things I mentioned when we chatted last month?

As before if you need more help, you will need to provide more information.

- The motherboard, CPU and video card(s) details.

- Also the relevant logs from the Unraid OS and VM.

- Include a copy of your System Devices (Tools -> System Devices)
