One USB not booting but the other one is!

Featured Replies

I am testing the booting into Unraid from my USB drive using my laptop.

I tried it with a 8gb drive and it booted ok. But I tried a 2gb Sandisk Cruzer Micro and it didn't boot.

I removed the U3 partition and now the on boot up the drive says "missing operating system"

Can someone assist me?

I have found the solution. I found the following from somewhere else but I like someone to explain what this means:

I converted the partition on SanDisk to active and that made it not show up under the hard disks anymore.

It then booted as USB-HDD.

To make it active, opened a command window and typed diskpart (under Vista 64).

To see all the disks, typed: list disk.

SanDisk was disk 3.

To select it, typed: select 3.

To select the partition, typed: select partition 1.

To make it active, typed: active.
