Disable spin down for unassigned disks?

Is there a way to disable spin down for unassigned disks or does unRaid only spin down disks in the array?

I'm continuing to get "print_req_error: I/O error" errors on my backup drive - even after replacing the drive with a new one. I have new cables on order too.

But in the meantime, I'm thinking it might be the spin up / down sequence that's causing this.

I see a "Default spin down delay" in Settings under Disk Settings, but it looks like that would apply to all drives. And I see that I can disable spin down for individual drives in the array.

But I can't seem to find a way to disable spin down on the unassigned backup drive. Or maybe I should turn off spin down for all drives, then go into the array and turn on spin down for each drive in the array?

Any ideas?
