2 NICs - Plex uses both randomly(?)

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

i like to know if it is possible to tell Plex to use only "one" dedicated NIC to stream files?

unRAID has two networks - 192.168.2.250 and 10.10.10.250

Plex is configured to use the 192.x-IP but is using the 10.x randomly too.

All recommendations are welcome

Make sure you have only ONE default gateway configured in your network settings

I checked this already - that was my first guess, but no 😉

The 10Gb-Link is only a "peer-to-peer" connection between my PC and unRAID - so no gateway and no DNS.

Post a screenshot of your routing table (see network settings)

Here it is

I didn't change anything - all default.

That looks alright.

In this case Plex will only use 10.x if anything is sourced from this subnet, e.g. a client with address 10.10.10.x talking to Plex.

In all other cases it will follow the default gateway 192.168.2.253

Yep - thats right - only my PC uses the 10.x network - but not always... thats the strange thing - but never mind...
