November 9, 20196 yr Is there any reason NOT to lock threads that haven't had a reply in more than a year? If not, I think it would be a good thing to implement, along with a note somewhere why this was done. It seems like every time an old thread is resurrected, the new post doesn't belong there, for various reasons. For support threads with very little activity because stuff just works, the supporting person or group could easily post a keep alive, or request an unlock if appropriate.
November 16, 20196 yr Yeah, I think we should. But with one exception. The OP should have the rights to post a reply (only because on occasion I do add more entries to the FAQ's, various programming threads that may hit the one year rule)
