How to make INVALID user not see the folder

Featured Replies

Hi -

I just got my PLUS key to today, and I am working on setting up my unRAID server to make a folder "inaccessible/hide" to a specific user:

For example:

I got two users set up on my box: root and sakh1979

There are two shares: movies, and personal

I want both the root and sakh1979 users to see and access the movies folder, but I don't want sakh1979 to even see the personal folder. I only want the root user to see both the movies and personal folder and have full access to it.

Is that possible to do?

Thanks,

Sagun

OK, I figured out how to make a particular share invisible to selected users.

There is an option in the Export drop down that says "Export read only, hidden", and then choose the user(s) you want the shares to hide from and then... it's done.

That was pretty simple, and one of the reason why I like unRAID so much, its very customizable...
