November 11, 20196 yr Community Expert Would need the complete diagnostics to confirm but you likely have a Marvell controller, and if so it's a known issue
November 11, 20196 yr Author here is the diagnostics can you recommend a controller i had purchased one but for some reason it was not being recognised by the system so I put back in my old controller all the best Darron server-diagnostics-20191111-1702.zip
November 11, 20196 yr Community Expert You have a Marvell 9230, and those are the most problematic, there's a workaround that works for some: https://forums.unraid.net/bug-reports/stable-releases/disks-missing-after-upgrading-to-670-r536/?do=findComment&comment=4583 If it doesn't work or you prefer to use a recommended controller get an LSI with a SAS2008/2308/3008/3408 chipset in IT mode, e.g., 9201-8i, 9211-8i, 9207-8i, 9300-8i, 9400-8i, etc and clones, like the Dell H200/H310 and IBM M1015, these latter ones need to be crossflashed.
November 12, 20196 yr Author thank you Johnnie Black I continue to be utterly amazed at the ease and power of Unraid the workaround worked flawlessly I will indeed be updating to a new controller thanks again for your help Darron
