Would need the complete diagnostics to confirm but you likely have a Marvell controller, and if so it's a known issue

here is the diagnostics

can you recommend a controller i had purchased one but for some reason it was not being recognised by the system so I put back in my old controller

all the best

You have a Marvell 9230, and those are the most problematic, there's a workaround that works for some:

https://forums.unraid.net/bug-reports/stable-releases/disks-missing-after-upgrading-to-670-r536/?do=findComment&comment=4583

If it doesn't work or you prefer to use a recommended controller get an LSI with a SAS2008/2308/3008/3408 chipset in IT mode, e.g., 9201-8i, 9211-8i, 9207-8i, 9300-8i, 9400-8i, etc and clones, like the Dell H200/H310 and IBM M1015, these latter ones need to be crossflashed.
