Slow reads when writing

Featured Replies

Hi there, Dual-Parity Unraid Pro 6.7.2

DELL R610 2 x X5670 / 64GB RAM / Mellanox ConnectX-2 / LSI 9201-16e (latest firmware)

2 x DELL SC200 JBOD with 12 x 2TB SAS 7.2K RPM

My problem is that when I write to the array from a computer I can't access anything from other computers, I can barely browse the contents.
If I try to download (read) from the array I get ~350KB/s with "Tunable (md_write_method): reconstruct write" and 1-2 MB/s with "Tunable (md_write_method): Auto" and I was reading from a different HDD.
If the array is idle I can read from it with ~120-130MB /s.

I understand that the reads could be slow on the disk that I am writing but the rest that are idle ?? Is this normal ?

Known issue with the 6.7.x releases.  It is resolved in the 6.8.0-RC currently available for public testing.

Thank you, updated to 6.8.0 and the problem is solved.

May I ask how you set up your SC200's?  I recently purchased one at auction and want to add it to my R720 array.  Other than installing the LSI 9201-16e and connecting through the SFF-8088 cable was there any software installation on the SC200?
