Moved Disk

Featured Replies

I physically moved my Parity 1 disk to a new location in the server and now it's showing up as an unassigned disk.  If I physically move it back to it's original location in the server it reappears as Parity disk 1.  Can it be moved and if so, how do I get it to show up as Parity 1 again???  Hopefully it's a simple thing and thanks in advance.

Yes, Unraid keeps track of disks by their serial numbers so the actual port it's connected to doesn't matter. That's the case with motherboard SATA ports and simple add-in cards. There's clearly something different about your setup that's causing the issue that you're seeing but as you've provided no information I can only guess. Are you using a hardware RAID controller or SAS disks, perhaps? Post your diagnostics for both configurations.
