Jetjockey
Hello. ive just replaced my wireless keyboard and mouse as the keyboard died. The new keyboard and mouse were not recognised by my Windows virtual machine so I updated the template and passed through the new USB dongle. Now the Win10 VM will not run saying it cannot find USB device 248a:8367. ive switched back to the old wireless dongle and passed that through by updating the template but the Windows 10 VM still wont run. Any ideas anyone? Update: Right... If I alter the template to pass through the new WiFi dongle for the new keyboard and mouse, when I attempt to start the Virtual machine it says it can’t find USB device xyz which is the old WiFi dongle. If I refit the old dongle and alter the template accordingly the Win10 Virtual machine won’t start and objects that it cannot find the new WiFi dongle. Dohh!! if I fit both the old dongle and new dongle then the Win10 virtual machine starts and the new keyboard and mouse functions perfectly. Anybody know why this might be happening? Is it a bug within UnRaid? Thanks. Edited November 14, 2019 by Jetjockey Quote Link to comment

itimpi
I have found that there can be times where you need to switch to xml view and remove the usb device. You then switch back to form view and re-add the usb device. Why this can work I do not know but it has several times in the past for me. 1 Quote Link to comment
Jetjockey
Please excuse my ignorance, but how does one view in XML mode? Also, what are we viewing, is it the template? Thanks. Quote Link to comment
itimpi
If you use the option to Edit the VM then there is a toggle at the top right to switch between form and xml modes. 1 Quote Link to comment
