(SOLVED ) If not using VMs or Docker, is it safe to delete appdata/system default shares?

Featured Replies

I want to clean up my shares, i am not using any docker containers or WMs, do i really need to have the appdata/system default shares?

Follow up question is, only the appdata share is deleable via the gui, the system share is empty (only contains an emtpy docker folder) but for some reason the share tells me it contains data (and therefor cannot be deleted via gui). What files? Are there hidden contents in the system folder i am unaware of?

Yes.  But they will probably get recreated if you don't disable docker and vm's in the settings.

Not normally, but if you are on a Mac for instance, then finder will create hidden files pretty much everywhere you navigate to, and you have to enable show dot files in Global Share settings to remove them (or set finder to not create them in the first place, however you do that)

defaults write com.apple.desktopservices DSDontWriteNetworkStores -bool true
