December 1, 20196 yr Community Expert Still problems with the USB controller, most VIA devices have been very problematic since I can remember, good news they are not used in any recent PCs, you're probably better off getting an addon (non VIA) UBS controller if you really need to use a USB disk. December 15, 20196 yr Author So a quick update... after a lot of faffing I have managed to upgrade the bios of my board & even tested using diffrent external disk cases with just the same result. I probably will come back to this one day but for now I will leave the back ups on USB2 as they seem stable enough T
