frequent loss of server connections requiring reboots

Featured Replies

Hello, just new to Unraid...setup server with recommended components 590 csae, asus motherboard, amd chip, running 4.5.6 with serveral drives (2tb parity, 2Tb data, 1 tb data x 3, 640 gb data) and things were working well for about 2 weeks and now I get constant lockups of the server, not able to access it via windows 7 network, my mac or via the Ip address...tried soft button press without success and everytime I have had to reboot completely, with the necessary parity check...attached is a copy of my syslog, any suggestions would be much appreciated...I was so excited by this as  a storage/backup solution but my wife will kill me if she tries to watch her exercise videos via SageTV and it can't find the server where stuff is stored!!! Help!!

syslog.txt

Step 1 ... Perform a memory test.

I see nothing in the syslog other than a large number of duplicate files.  (You should clean out the dupes, as the error messages will fill the system log and eventually run you out of memory)

The memory test binary should already be there on your flash drive as it is part of the unRAID distribution.  When booting up, the memory test is an option in the  initial unRAID boot menu..

thanks Joe. Do I run it until it reaches 100% pass? I see some people running it for several hours on the forums...also, if i wanted to upgrade the version of memtest that is on the flash drive with the memtest4.10.bin that I downloaded, do I just rename the downloaded file as a the same memtest as is already on teh drive? of note the one of the drive doesn't have a .bin extension.

Does your server just loose it's connection when its not in use? Does it happen when writing or reading.
