ASUS M4A79T

Featured Replies

This MB is based on AMD 790FX which is the most power hungry AMD 7xx series chipset. In addition it does not have integrated video and you will have to use an additional video card at least the initial setup.

If you want a suggestion this one looks very good for $80 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157167

ASRock is an Asus spin-off to compete the other "low-cost" manufacturers.

790FX was meant as a higher end gaming chipset. Given the lack of onboard video, it's not well suited to unRAID. You can look for a 780GX, 780G, or 785G based board.

I have come to loathe Asus boards for unRAID use, because of their charming habit of changing the boot order every time you add a new disk. If you like to run headless, this becomes a major pain in the ass, as you have to go into the BIOS and set the USB drive as the boot device over and over again.
