rukiftw
Seasons Greetings Community Wizards, I am in need of your expertise. I woke up this morning to two drives disabled. Party2 and data 2. I replaced them with cold spares. I made a new config with out the bad drives. I went to preclear the replacements, but both drives did not show up. So i checked the disk log. The replacements and several others are reporting: Nov 30 08:36:00 nas kernel: print_req_error: I/O error, dev sdv, sector XX The replacements are spamming this message. the others only have one entry. My DAS is an: EMC2 KTN-STL3. I guess my two options are: replace the interposers which are sending out read errors replace the sas controller my primary concern is the prevention of data loss. my primary party drive is still valid, and not reporting errors. after we figure this out, i assume the rebuild goes as follows: 1.) restore data drive. 2.) restore parity2. ? Any support is appreciated, Thank you! tctnas-diagnostics-20191130-1657.zip Edited November 30, 2019 by rukiftw Quote Link to comment

rukiftw
7 hours later. no further errors. I added both the parity and data drives back into the new config. a rebuild is required. I hope this information helps someone else in the future. Quote Link to comment
bounsky
. What SAS HBA card are you using on the Unraid server to connect to the KTN-STL3? Quote Link to comment
