Intel DG43NB

Recommended Posts

hey guys was always luking here but made the step recently to unraid

soon will try to do a level 1 test bust still waiting to buy some 2TB WD so that i can install the rest of my HDs

the hardware is as follows

  • Intel DG43NB, S775, G43, 2xDDR2, ATX
  • Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold, 600Watt, ATX
  • Intel Celeron Dual-Core E3300 2.5G,800MHz,S775,Box
  • Adaptec 1220SA 2p SATA RAID, PCIe
  • Fractal-Design Define R3, Black Pearl
  • 2GB OCZ DDR2 800Mhz 5-5-5

For the people who has the same intel board, You need to check the bios version and update, cause te previous version where a little bugy got version 106 running.

When i bought it v96 was installed. Updating is easy just put the bios file in the usb stick and turn on F7 bois update in old bios, reboot and press F7 and update the bios.

The board has onboard VGA and 6 Sata (ICH10) ports 3.0GBs.

1 PCIE 16x

3 PCIE 1x

3 PCI

12 USB ?? why so many, I don't know.

Its just an solid no nonsense board.

keep you guys posted, hope to put some fotos up in Pimp my rig topic

update 30 nov:

Got it now running a couple of days with

2 x 2TB WD EARS

2 x 1TB Samsung U103

Did some parity checks al fine, now coping data to the unraid and getting familiar with unraid, love unmenu

The x16 PCI-e slot is not something you can use for a raid/sata card cause, If you stick a card in that slot.

The onboard video will be turned off as described in manual.

This is no problem for me cause the board got lots of x1 PCI-e slots, but can be for some people.

Get Sensor readings (CPU temp/Fan speed)

you need to add the following to your GO script

modprobe coretemp
modprobe w83627ehf
