jeet
I am trying to use an external ssd with usb 3.1 but when I launch the VM(windows10 or Ubuntu 18.04) after attaching this usb device, the vm fails with Warning: speed mismatch trying to attach usb device "Portable SSD (speed) to bus "usb.0", port "3" (full+high+super speed) 2019-12-04T00:00:22.146844Z qemu-system-x86_64: -device usb-host,hostbus=2,hostaddr=2,id=hostdev3,bus=usb.0,port=3: failed to open host usb device 2:2 error. The same device works if plugged in into the usb 3.0 port. Unraid OS: Version: 6.7.2 Edited December 4, 2019 by jeet formattng Quote Link to comment
jeet
For anyone else, who come across this post: I was able to get the usb 3.1 ssd working by directly passing the usb 3.1 controller(using vfio-pci.ids) to the vm rather then selecting the usb device.
