November 24, 201015 yr I am not sure if this is an error or just something normal. I pulled out an older green drive from one of my computers to use as a cache drive and its struck me as kinda strange how its showing up in unMenu. It had an NTFS partition on it but I ran preclear on it. I just wanted to make sure that nothing was wrong with this. On a side note I wasn't sure if I needed the black bars or not, my understand is the last part is the serial number of the drives. Thanks for any help.
November 24, 201015 yr No need for the black bars. The cache drive shows up like that for everyone when on the unMenu main screen.
November 24, 201015 yr Author Thanks I had a feeling I didn't need to worry but I just wanted to make sure. It struck me as kinda odd since I hadn't seen it for any other drives and couldn't find any posts about it from the searches that I did (probably used the wrong keywords.)
November 24, 201015 yr sdb refers to the drive (maybe it is more accurate to say SATA port?) and sdb1 refers to the first partition on the drive (or first partition on the SATA port). Peter
November 24, 201015 yr Author I think what was throwing me off was how it was showing up compared to the data drives. I don't have much Linux experience outside of simple configs of HTPCs and a seedbox (none of them really had me dealing with hard drive configs.) I was expecting it to only show up as /dev/sdb like the other drives do and only in the Cache Drive section, not also in the unprotected portion too even though I know that the cache drive has no redundancy.

I don't usually run a "cache" drive, but it is possible to perform some tests on the full drive that are not possible on the first partition used for the cache drive. For that reason it shows in both locations in unMENU. Just think of it as another way to know more of the status of your server.
