December 8, 20196 yr Hi all, I'm new to unraid, but not to Linux. Moving from an Ubuntu server to unRAID to see what it can offer. Unfortunately, no luck on my HP Microserver Gen8 (+ 1x 120GB SSD, 4x 3TB HDD) so far; with either 6.7.2 or 6.8.0-rc9. Popped it onto a pendrive, got it to boot; but get a 169.254.x.x address on the bridge (br0) interface, and can't see any other network interfaces at all (aside from the gre/lo etc- no "real" interfaces). I get this when choosing static or DHCP in the installer; it simply isn't detecting my network interfaces. Similar story for the hard drives; they're installed into the HP Microserver Gen8 hotswap bays, so they go through the HP RAID chip, but they're assigned as JBOD (previously setup as ZFS array in Ubuntu); but I can see USB connected disks (1x 8TB external HDD with my data backup from before unRAID). Managed to connect another USB and run "diagnostics" and drop it onto the pen drive, so hopefully this helps? tower-diagnostics-20191208-0250.zip Edited December 8, 20196 yr by dalgibbard Added diag file directly
December 8, 20196 yr Community Expert Flash drive isn't mounting correctly, this also results in missing drivers/firmware, try again recreting the flash drive on the same or a different one if possible, manually creating might also help. In Windows open a command prompt window as administrator, then type, in this order: -diskpart -list disk -select disk x (x=your flash drive) -clean -create partition primary -format fs=fat32 label=UNRAID quick -active -assign -exit -close cmd window -extract Unraid release to flash -execute make_bootable as admin
December 8, 20196 yr Author Nice one! Switched pen drives, followed the manual process, and now it sees the disks + network interfaces. Thanks a lot!
