December 11, 20196 yr I have a 4 drive array of 5TB drives with a single parity disk. One of the 5TB drives in the array has gone bad. A 6TB drive is actually cheaper than 5TB now, so that's what I purchased. Can I install the 6TB drive as a second parity disk, rebuild, then take the existing 5TB parity disk and turn it into a standard drive? This will allow me to upgrade to 6 TB drives in the future, because the parity drive will already be 6TB.
