Antivirus On Unraid Options

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I see the genral thinking is that virus' can not run on Unraid so there are no dockers or plugins out there currently but as I am running a network at home I would still like to have the oppertunity to check files especially in this age of ransome ware.

I do have AV on all my client machines and VMs so this is very much a belt and braces move.

One suggestion is to install an OS as a VM and check from there (which I will explore) but before I do I would like to know if any other options are out there that people are using such as a very light OS with an AV service that can run in its own VM ?

Thanks

Terran

There is a ClamAV docker that you can use to scan the array.

Personally I prefer client-side AV software though.

Looks ideal. As I say belt and braces as I have client side any way but as I have seen real world examples in my job I would rather there be complete coverage especially as my back up solution is not spot on yet.

Thanks

I think ransomware is a bigger problem than viruses.  Personally I don't use any AV on any of my Linux machines.
