VM wont start after upgrading CPU and Mobo

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I just upgraded the CPU and Mobo in my Unraiud Server.

I went from AMD Ryzen 1700 and X470 to Syzen 3900X and X570.

Migration went smooth only my windows 10 VM won't start anymore.

When I try to start is I get the following error;

internal error: child reported (status=125): unable to open /mnt/disks/Force_MP510_1936823800012888041C/Win10 NVME/vdisk1.img: Read-only file system

I can see that the problem is that the image is read only but i have no idea how to make it writable again.

This NVME drive is an unasigned drive wich i only use for my VM's, i don't understand after swapping motherbord and cpu the drive cant be written to anymore.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I'm having this same error. How did you resolved it? Anyone care to point this out to me?

I started to get it after having to use a different drive to run a direct windows install (without unraid, array disks were disconnected, but I did leave in the cache disk connected which I'm now regretting).

More info.

Solution (which there may be another way but since no one said anything...)

I just copied the vdisks to another location, and copied it back which caused the permissions to change and now it works.
