December 15, 20196 yr Hi guys, So earlier today when upgrading my HSF on my i5-8400 the motherboard died, or short-circuited I don't know, but I can't even get the flash drive to work in my macbook, but that's another discussion. I figured this was a good time to upgrade to a Supermicro Sc846 chasis, but I would still like to use my i5-8400, it's awesome and low-powered... I remember there was an adapter that you needed to buy to get the case to work with a non-supermicro board. Do you guys remember what it is? Also, any suggestions for a nice board. I need something with a 16X slot for HBA, 8X for P2000 and would be nice to have a nother 4X for a quad NIC at some point in the future should I decide to mess with pfsense.

December 15, 20196 yr Author Awesome, thank you! I actually ordered this one: https://www.amazon.com/Supermicro-11-81-Inch-16-Pin-Front-CBL-0068L/dp/B000ONYSR4 It's a bit longer but now I see that the part numbers are different, I hope it will still work and just the length is different. Looks like the same cable
