Recomeded replacment for a AOC-SAS2LP-MV8

Testing out unraid and was about to move it to my main system and start the process of coping over my drives and data.  Then I thought I better check on compatibility of my sata  card, only to find out that it is not recommended.  So now I need to decided to try it and if it doesn't work then replace the card, or replaced the card before I copy every thing over.    All the info about this card seems to be about year old, my first question is, is this still not a recommended card? and if not what are the consequences of using it?.  My second question is what card should I replace it will, I use both sas ports with a break out cable on each, for a total of 8 drives, and then use the motherboard ports as well.  So I was thinking if I have to replace it should I goto a 16port card if they are not cost prohibitive.

Still not recommended, it can drop disks without a reason and in same cases gives always 5 errors when doing a parity check after a reboot, corrupting data.

Any LSI with a SAS2008/2308/3008/3408 chipset in IT mode, e.g., 9201-8i, 9211-8i, 9207-8i, 9300-8i, 9400-8i, etc and clones, like the Dell H200/H310 and IBM M1015, these latter ones need to be crossflashed.

i have 2 of them, it works but i can confirm they can be dropping hdd's offline. 2 weeks ago i lost 1 hdd (its not dead, just corrupt) and the 3 other connected hdd's did have 1k+ errors on the Unraid main page...

i going to replace them with a LSI 9201-16i...

(parity and cache devices are connected to MB directly)
