December 15, 20196 yr Long story short im upgrading my motherboard but my flash drive failed. I do make backup using CA backup and I thought it was only on the array, but I actually just tested an offiste backup which appears to have backed up the flash drive! So now I have the backed up flash drive files. Could you guys help me what the appropriate way is of transferring the backup to a new flash drive (which I have) and to get it going so I don't loose any data? I don't want the array to start formatting or reconfiguring itself! Thanks Edited December 15, 20196 yr by maxse
December 15, 20196 yr I think most simple way was change the config file 'array auto start' to 'no' then boot it and check any abnormal. Or more safe, just start system without disks, due to too much error, so array wont start ( of course no disks ). Then set don't auto start and confirm all disk assignment up to date and match. Just don't wrongly assign data disks as parity and no any missing disks. Edited December 15, 20196 yr by Benson
December 15, 20196 yr Author I'm back online! I copied files to new flash drive ran Make_bootable Also, I found that in the config folder there was a text file called "Disk Assignments" which had all of my assignments. Was this a part of the Ca Backup plugin or does unraid due that on its own? Because everyone seems to always worry about it if its write there for you. I wonder if it was there because of the plugin? Anyway parity is running now and everything is good. Still can't use my P2000. But already ordered the SC846 and just need to pick a new mobo. Thanks guys! Edited December 15, 20196 yr by maxse
