November 26, 201015 yr Sorry for the title I (by now) have solved my issue but I wanted to share my experience as a warning to others. Let me start of with the fact I love UnRaid and (upto now) has been a zero-touch solution which I enjoy (I am technologicaly skilled but by no means an expert on storage). However I recently upgraded my server from 1 case (Chenbro) which I outgrew to a new case which will hold up to 20 drives. Now here's the issue I ran into. I decided to use the old case (and including hardware) as a iSCSI target running some other software solution (one which will work with Citrix StorageLink) when my troubles began. Long story short network performance dropped like a rock. After 2 days I now finally have found the problem: network.cfg has the MAC adress of the original card which makes it so I have 2 servers with the same MAC address on my network which will reap horror. I by now have changed (read deleted) the line from network.cfg and my problems have disappeared. So the question is: why did network.cfg hold the MAC address of the NIC?
