Title kinda says it all.

Home-assistant running on unraid server - Check

account with duckdns.org - Check

setup duckdns.org on my dd-wrt router - check

setup port forwarding for home assistant on dd-wrt router ports 8123, 443, 80 with internal IP of the unraid server - check

can remote log into home assistant via http - check

can remote log into home assistant via https: - Nope

 

Started a ton of reading online and watching various youtube tutorials on how to get https access to HA.

Installed the duckdns docker on unraid server - check

Installed Letsencrypt docker on unraid server - check

Thought I had setup everything correctly in accordance to a couple websites (home assistant and user blogs followed) - NOPE

 

Seems most of the guides instructing how to setup https for home assistant are for using the raspberry pi, not using an unraid server, so there are some differences in how things are done.

So, I'm just wondering, does anyone know a simple enough guide to follow in order to get https/ssl working correctly for an unraid home assistant setup? I'll admit, I'm not a Linux guru, but can follow and enter commands (so I thought lol).

 

Personally the only reason I'm trying to get this up and running is so I can get Google Assistant/Home to integrate with HA, but in order for that to work, according to the HA documentation, is to be able to access HA via https, or pay for the cloud service...but I'm cheap. /s

I figured it out.  Found a great youtube video on step by step procedures for setting up duckdns.org, setting up additional configurations in Unraid, and finally setting up the Letsencrypt docker properly.

Hi Marbles,

Im new to Unraid and also followed Spaceinvader guide. All went wel using my own domain name.

Except for Home Assistant.......What exactly do you put in the home assistant configuration file? I'm familiar wit HA because it's running on a Raspberry PI, but like to set it up on Unraid.
