Can I update to 6.9.2 with safety without breaking anything? What should be the method to update with the modified kernel? Thanks in advance and nice work! Not to discourage @thor2002ro's work, but as I only needed the Vendor Reset patch I moved to using this and compiling the kernel myself. You have to re-do this after every update, but at least you can do it (relatively) safely. Quote Link to comment
ross232
@thor2002ro Thanks for this - I've just installed 5.13rc7 O3 What do I need to do to enable DVB on this kernel? I see the following in dmesg at the moment: [ 19.006411] dvb-usb: did not find the firmware file 'dvb-usb-dib0700-1.20.fw' (status -2). You can use <kernel_dir>/scripts/get_dvb_firmware to get the firmware The standard DVB plugin doesn't work with this kernel from what I can tell. Quote Link to comment
thor2002ro
you didnt update the firmware file its in the 5.13rc5+clang release should give you the missing fw file Quote Link to comment
ross232
Oh right that makes sense. I'll try tonight. Thanks 👍 Quote Link to comment
flyize
Hello @thor2002ro Great work. Any chance you can help us Alder Lake folks over here? Quote Link to comment
Sptz87
I've noticed this keeps getting released without any further discussions here! I was only interested due to comments on amd pstate improvements. I know one can use it with the default kernel but if the only thing I'm looking for is to use amd pstate would the latest versions be worth a try? Quote Link to comment
