IOMMU stays disabled

Featured Replies

Hello,

I am running an unraid machine with an 0Y2MRG Motherboard and an i7-2600 (Dell XPS 8300). I've gotten quite a few VM's working on it at this point but I have been unable to get IOMMU to show as enabled in system information. As a result I can't use the attached radeon 5770 and get audio to pass through from the VMs.

I took a look at each and every bios setting (bios version A06), and have any settings related to virtualization enabled (Intel Virtualization Technology). I couldn't find a more specific manual to determine whether or not my motherboard actually has Intel VT-d available. I was wondering if anybody had any ideas about this, and whether I can get this to work, or if I should look for a new motherboard.

I used this documentation which didn't help me confirm anything:

https://downloads.dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_desktop/esuprt_xps_desktop/xps-8300_service%20manual_en-us.pdf

Thank you!

Ah, I should've thought to check the chipset documentation too. Thank you very much!

Looks like it's time for an upgrade...
