SuperMicro x10 Motherboard Cannot Get Web GUI or IPV4 DHCP

Featured Replies

Hey guys I am having two issues with my SuperMicro x10DRL-i motherboard: cannot get DHCP working so I use assign static in USB creator but then cannot startup WebGUI (either boot or on remote browser to http://tower). I am able to use IPMI with the server just fine.

My Server is configured on the motherboard's IPMI at 192.168.1.4. I am using USB creator and loading up Unraid 6.8.0. I have tried stock settings and statically assigned an IPV4 address with the following USB Creator settings but the issue persists:

static IPV4: 192.168.1.5 (also tried 192.168.1.4)

subnet: 255.255.255.0

Gateway: 192.168.1.1

DNS: 192.168.1.1

My Setup:

Server < --- > Switch < ---> Router

I also tried this config (but no difference in the issues)

Server <----> Router

I have seen many articles where individuals have faced the same issue but no solutions or further conversation was made on these forums. When booting to CLI prior to entering root into Unraid, DHCP shows "IPV4: not set" whereas static shows "IPV4: 192.168.1.5". Even with the static address going on my mac or windows computers I cannot access the web gui at 192.168.1.5 or http://tower. For both options I tried to boot GUI Mode which successfully displays the typical wall of text followed by a blank black screen with a blank underscore cursor (ex. _) and does nothing for 30 mins.

I hope someone can help me resolve what I may be doing wrong. I have attached the log files for the default USB Creator settings.

Please can someone direct what I am doing incorrectly? Thanks.

EDIT: Solved. For this issue I only had 1 ethernet cable connected to IPMI. If I want both IPMI management and Internet connection for unraid I needed another Ethernet cable connected to LAN 1 (which corresponds to Eth0)
