I love how easy it is to get VMs with pass through working out of the box.

I would like to see the unraid docker interface work with docker-compose

There is a lot I like about unraid. Something most recently is the fact it's really allowed me to hone my technical skills which has translated quite well in my job. Started working in Azure and VM's, Docker's, SQL DB's, all sorts of things were already very familiar to me because of the time I spent tinkering with my 2 unraid boxes.

What i want to see in 2020? either Server to Server native backup/sync or Snapshots

One thing I Love: how well it works and ease of use.

One thing I wish it had: sleek, “Apple-esque” aesthetic for setup.

I love the usability and using Dockers. I'd love to see the ability to move things around and customize the dashboard more.

Love the fact that the feature set development has accelerated in the last 12 months.

My wanted feature is multiple pools, both in terms of an additional parity protected array and additional cache arrays for purposes like a dedicated app pool.

Love the flexibility of the OS with the hardware.

Would love to see ZFS file system.  (Come on, even Ubuntu has it now)

The community aspects of Unraid and how helpful and responsive everyone is on the whole is my favorite.

I'd have to add another +1 for ZFS.

Thing I love about unraid: the VM support

Thing I want: built in file/directory sync between servers

Love how powerful it is, with all the community apps.

Would love to see it be more stable so when I'm not home, Plex will still work ;)

I love the ease of use and the simple web UI.

I honestly don't know what I want added.  It does everything I need (I'm simple).

Love how easy docker makes turning unraid into a media server

don't love that unraid doesn't have iscsi support. I think a paid for NAS product should suppot block network storage.

keep up the great work!

I love how I can just add one drive to the array at a time unlike other raid which I’ll have to add multiple drive at a time.

I wish unraid VM editor can retain my custom xml edits so I can use the GUI editor even I have custom xml edits.

I like Unraid because it's flexible.  Spare HDD lying around?  Slap in it an preclear.

The feature I'd like most in Unraid in 2020 is the ability to pass hardware directly to containers (like Nvidia drivers!).

I love that Unraid has a legit ecosystem built around it that I didn't even know about 2 years ago, and that it "just works" with all the hardware I've (carefully) thrown at it so far.

In 2020, I'd like to see continued development of remote access either via the new built-in VPN or a la Plex style for remote admin, mobile apps, etc.

I love that unraid runs so well on old hardware.

In 2020 I'd like the array operations such as parity swap & failed disk replacement to be made smoother/more foolproof. I always feel like I'm doing something wrong when I perform any array changes.

I like the simplicity and flexibility Unraid provides for mundane tasks without compromising the ability to dive into the details for advanced setup requirements. Perfect for the hobbiest and IT pro alike.

For 2020, I really would like some updated documentation. The forums are great ... but distilling all this knowledge into a curated user guide would be stellar! I know the wiki exists ... but it's a far cry from the information in the forum and other places around the internet (reddit, YouTube, etc.). And the forums are great, but tracking down little details, pages into a thread, while screening out the non-important posts mid-stream is cumbersome. It would be really nice if the wiki was overhauled and maintained with the best information Limetech and the community has to offer.

Thanks for the hard work Limetech!

I love the flexibility. The ability to use any drive size, do add or remove whenever, to extend with plugins and docker containers, and so on.

A feature I'd love is high availability, mentioned above. Basically when a docker container is down (as defined by a custom rule), restart it.

Another great feature would be multiple cache pools.

Thanks, awesomeness!

one thing you like most about Unraid

it just works

one thing you'd like to see added to the OS in 2020

visualization -   I want graphanna based plugins and 3rd party/ community CSS/skins

Having docker support is my current favorite feature of unraid.

For 2020 it would be nice to have multiple cache pools.

I like that ability to simply add drives as my needs expand.

For the future I would like to see ZFS support.

Thanks

The one thing i like the most about Unraid is versatility and ease of use. I've for long been a user in dire need of storage but i've never wanted to use raid due to the nature of how unreliable and expensive it is. Just the fact that in unraid you can start out with 2-3 drives and then slowly add to your pool as you go is amazing.

Focus on stability and security is my main focus, my data is extremely worth to me. I would also like to see multiple arrays.

The incredible ease of use, while still being an very complex and in depth tool.

Manual XML edits retained when re-editing via the GUI.

Thank you, and best of luck everyone.

I love how easy unRAID is to set up for a beginner - just getting into a NAS.

One thing I wish it had was Linux support for more hardware - but that's not on you, that's on the hardware manufacturer to actually put work in on it!

I love the web GUI interface, with so many easy to access advanced functions.

I would love to see Intel gvt-v and vgpu integration in the virtual machines. This will be a game changer!

I love the freedom of using whatever hardware I want to provide a lot of functionality for minimal costs.

I would like to see some more enhancements for VMs like easier GPU passthrough and native ZFS support.
