January 4, 20206 yr One thing I like the most about Unraid is how easy it is to get things up and running with help of this forum! What I wish to see in 2020 is non-root users and user access control for webUI!
January 4, 20206 yr App / Plugin ecosystem. Easy Docker deployments and GPU passthrough. Official support for ZFS with ssd caching (L2ARC + ZIL)
January 5, 20206 yr Best part of Unraid is the community. I would like to see better support for VMs like taking snapshots and making it easy to do passthrough.
January 5, 20206 yr I love its flexibility. Currently I have two computers with unraid, one as a workstation and the other as NAS. I'd like to see ability to group disks into separate arrays.

The one thing I like most about Unraid is the UI, as a beginner with Unraid it was extremely easy for me to get started and now that I have used it for a few months I really enjoy how simple it is to do most things such as build VM's and Docker containers. The most useful thing I have found so far is the community though, they help out a ton. 2. One thing I would like to see added to the OS in 2020 is the ability to set up Snapshots so if say a picture was accidentally deleted on a share It would be easily recoverable, also snapshots for VM's and Docker containers, but it would also be nice to have native ZFS Edited January 6, 20206 yr by Frankthetank907 added a couple extra thoughts
January 5, 20206 yr Install & upkeep is a breeze. Reuse existing hardware. What's not to like! I would like more internationalisation support in 2020. Edited January 8, 20206 yr by dudusmaximus
January 5, 20206 yr I love how easy it was to learn and setup, as well as the heterogeneous disk options I'd like to see more tutorials on plugins and what you can achieve with them in the official wiki
January 5, 20206 yr I love the fact that it is the most stable OS I have ever used. Previous OS server attempts resulted in lost data and disc failures. I'd like to have one touch presets for disc upgrades.👍
January 5, 20206 yr Love how easy it is to setup! I would like to see official iOS manager for unraid.
January 5, 20206 yr I love the Community that Lime-Tech has fostered around UnRaid. I'm hoping to see Multiple Cache Pools as an option. I would love to have one Cache Pool used for File Transfers while another Cache Pool can be used for Docker/App Data/VM Disks/etc.
January 5, 20206 yr I love the easily upgradable pool. I'd love to see iscsi support. Keep up the awesome work!
January 5, 20206 yr I like the ease of pass-through with the all the secret sauce I have two nice to haves: 1. Id like zfs to be an option so it can be more easily monitored and send alerts 2. someway to allow changes in the xml for a vm to survive a GUI edit
January 5, 20206 yr I like the home-user-friendly array approach. It's definitely way more effective to repurpose old hdds, which vary often in size. AND I really like the community supporting this project. I think some kind of notification service would be nice. (via email, Signal, Telegram, etc.) To receive a message from the server itself is way more convenient than regularly checking the servers website.

Last time I checked there is Settings - Notification Settings for that...
January 5, 20206 yr I really like the ease of use, the web gui is intuitive for Unraid noobs like myself. 👍 What I would like to see built in, solid upnp/dlna functionality for those of us that use network audio streamers.
January 6, 20206 yr Been using Unraid for a long time and what I like most is it's versatility. When I first started, it was basically just used for storage. But now you can use it for so much more with dockers and VMs. One thing that would be nice is a native backup solution. Whether it be off site, or to another server.
January 6, 20206 yr So easy to setup and so much functionality !! Thanks !! Just rebuilt my system and found I was after more of a Docker/VM machine rather than just a NAS, so I think I am a +1 for cache pools.
January 6, 20206 yr I like that I can ssh in and mess things up. I would like to see an apps and services focused Unraid for ARM.

Quote and one thing you'd like to see added to the OS in 2020 A file browser/manager in the webUI (see this feature request for example : https://forums.unraid.net/topic/61985-file-browser-in-webui/)

January 6, 20206 yr What I love: The simplicity of use. After managing servers all day for work it is nice to have the simple interface at home. What I'd like to see in 2020: High availability via multiple servers.
January 6, 20206 yr I’ve been using unraid now for almost 7-8 months. I like how you can take common pc components and make it into a powerful NAS. I would like snapshotting of docker containers and vms. This way we can revert if anything breaks.
January 6, 20206 yr I love how much information is available to solve specific configuration problems with any system combination imaginable, and how even a specific question for a very isolated problem will usually get addressed by either staff or a member of the community in a reasonable timeframe. I would like to see some more specific performance optimization tools for VMs on Threadripper systems, as it can be a challenge to properly configure a processor with multiple numa nodes to run efficiently.
January 6, 20206 yr Love the flexibility of Unraid.. would love to see a proper zfs system implemented
