skank
the antec 1200 is a full tower not a midi one.. even way out of my budget + final choice will be coolermaster 590 or sharkoon 9 (pro) anyone can answer this: if i take the coolermaster i automatically get one 4in3 for free (no hotswap) if i add 3 more 3in 2 (does it exist in non hot swap) i get a total of 13 disks.... and its way cheeper? skank
Also can i build coolermaster 4in3 into a sharkoon rebel 9 case? Quote Link to comment
skank
Nevermind the cage questions made up my mind to go for the coolermaster.. its only 10 euro more... no hot swap for me (not willing to pay the extra amount of money just to be easier to swith a hard drive once in a year?) so getting to final choice: WD Caviar Green WD20EARS artnr. 249646 : stukprijs a € 83,70 € 83,70 Kingston ValueRAM artnr. 80156 : stukprijs a € 47,68 € 47,68 ASUS M4A78LT-M artnr. 257521 : stukprijs a € 52,87 € 52,87 Processor artnr. 244809 : stukprijs a € 57,95 € 57,95 Corsair VX550W artnr. 53576 : stukprijs a € 75,99 € 75,99 Cooler Master Centurion 590 artnr. 68676 : stukprijs a € 70,70 € 70,70 Total:388,89 euro + Delivery cost:12,99euro Total: 401,9euro Just doubting about the psu, if its not overrated..., i will have a maximum of 12-13 drives Do i need cables? or extra fans? Rajahal
That PSU is a bit over powered for your build. If you use only green drives, you could get away with the Corsair 430CX. If you plan on using some 7200 rpm drives, then go for the Corsair 500CX. You will need SATA cables to connect all your drives. Hard to say how many, because I don't know how many will be included with your motherboard and other components. You will also likely need some power splitters (molex to SATA) to provide power to all of your drives. Count how many SATA power ports are included in the PSU you choose, then you'll know how many extra power splitters you'll need. I doubt you'll need extra fans. Quote Link to comment

Rajahal
Technically yes, 80% vs 85%. In the real world I doubt that difference will mean much in terms of power savings. Quote Link to comment

It'll easily fit three of these: http://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-Module-Device-STB-3T4-E3-GP/dp/B00129CDGC/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1292188704&sr=8-2 giving you twelve 3.5" slots in a good looking and nicely cooling design. Hence, I recommend the 430CX for your 12-13 drive server. Quote Link to comment

Meteorite
cool thx, will order that too then so 4 of those-> still 8 i can connect, not 12 or 13 Easy get some Power Y Spliters. You could check the link bolle specified here, there are more cables on that shop, but all pc stores has these kind of cables also checked the connector of the psu SATA x4 4 pin Peripheral x3 so you only can get 3 of the kables bolle said cause they convert 1x 4 pin Peripheral to 2x sata so: SATA x4 4 pin Peripheral x3 + x2 coverter kables = 6 sata So 10 sata HD you can get 4 pin Peripheral Y spiters or you can get Sata power Y spliters. and increase the connectores Quote Link to comment

(i thought each hdd needs a sata) ,what should i get then so i can add 12-13 drives Quote Link to comment
Meteorite
the connector of the psu 4x SATA Power 3x 4 pin Peripheral (Power) so you can add 4 HD on those 4 Sata power connectors. Then add those 4pin power to 2 sata powerconnectors that bolle mentioned you can add 3 of those because the psu has only has 3 "4 pin" power connectors, so 3 x 2 = 6 sata power connector so you can add another 6 HD's 4 HD's + 6 HD's = 10 HD's but you can add even more when you add Power Y spliters, these come in Sata power and 4pin power flavors. So you always can add more. just buy them when you need them. e.g. when adding extra disks. You can buy these kabels at any local pc store Quote Link to comment
