December 31, 20196 yr Hello, I have currently an unraid tower running on 6.0 Beta 12 I am worried to do the upgrade as all my life's data resides on it. Also my unraid does not have a key (cause it was an older version), Can someone guide me how to get this to the latest version (along with a backup) Thank you very much https://i.imgur.com/JAxCu4a.png

Are you prepared for that? 34 minutes ago, Arjun S said: I am worried to do the upgrade as all my life's data resides on it. You should always have backup of any critical data, preferably with at least one off-site copy. Your comments imply you have no backups which is very risky as you can potentially lose data for all sorts of reasons.
December 31, 20196 yr Unraid 6 and newer require a key to run. Are you perhaps running Unraid version 5?

It's a beta (very old) set this up about 3 years ago. Guess then they did not need keys **shrugs** On 12/31/2019 at 2:14 PM, itimpi said: There is no 'free' version of Unraid anymore so you will not be able to upgrade unless you are prepared to buy a key. Also, my critical data is backed up in dropbox (documents, etc) The rest rests in my Unraid Server ( Media, Assets, Movies, cctv footage etc) Having a RAID 5 like setup in unraid was the idea initially. But how do i go upgrading this now? Edited January 10, 20206 yr by Arjun S
January 10, 20206 yr just make a full backup of your unraid usb drive before upgrade. i see in the screenshot that you are using Unraid server basic, so there is a key? you can check this here: tools -> registration Edited January 10, 20206 yr by sjaak

That was before the current license tiers were introduced. Edited January 10, 20206 yr by S80_UK

Backup the original flash drive. Then i'm guessing I owerite the whole thing with the contents of the new download., is that correct ? And i should be good ?
January 10, 20206 yr Quote To upgrade: If you are running any 6.4 or later release, click 'Check for Updates' on the Tools/Update OS page. If you are running a pre-6.4 release, click 'Check for Updates' on the Plugins page. If the above doesn't work, navigate to Plugins/Install Plugin, select/copy/paste this plugin URL and click Install: https://s3.amazonaws.com/dnld.lime-technology.com/stable/unRAIDServer.plg
