Piottreck Posted January 8, 2020 Share Posted January 8, 2020 I added a 4 TB drive to my array and after the 12h of parity calculations everything seemed fine. Then I wanted to add an additional 8TB drive as a second parity drive. Right after the Parity sync started I got errors from the previously added 4 TB drive. Increasing Raw read error rate (currently at 589) and 1 pending sector. There is no data on this drive yet and I would like to simply remove it from my array but since the parity sync process for the second parity drive just started I dont know what to do. Do I have to wait till the process finishes till I can remove the faulty disk? The speed of the parity sync is extremely slow (usually around 150mb I currently get varying speeds from 0,5mb to 40mb) I guess thats also due to the faulty drive) What are my options now? I can not simply wait more than 50 days for the parity sync process to finish... I have two parity disks with 8TB 4 disks with 8TB and 2 with 4TB Quote Link to comment
