BlackCat
I'm getting a SUPERMICRO CSE-M35T-1B hotswap bay and I see that people have their hotswap bays mounted either horizontal or vertical. Is there a reason to mount it in one orientation over the other? Or is this just personal preference? Thanks Link to comment
Rajahal
With that model you don't have a choice, you'll have to mount your drives vertically. The hot swap cage won't fit the other way (it is rectangular, not square, and the screw holes are only on two sides). Generally speaking I don't see any real reason to choose one orientation over the other. I could see that maybe vertical orientation could allow for better cooling, but as long as you have dedicated fans anyway it shouldn't matter. Link to comment
