SSD giving bogus current pend sectors

Recommended Posts

Upgraded to my 240GB cache drive with a 1TB drive but now I have had the following alert

Event: Unraid Cache disk SMART health [197]

Subject: Warning [sERVER] - bogus current pend sect is 1

Description: CT1000MX500SSD1_1910E1EE9FE0 (sdm)

Importance: warning

It has returned to normal now but it seen this before?

I probably bought it over 6 months ago so maybe a firmware update?

Bitch and complain to Crucial.

According to them and the other reports posted here and elsewhere, pending sectors on some of their lines of SSDs are normal and par for the course, and will happen continually.

Whether its a firmware issue or actual pending sectors, it doesn't exactly inspire confidence in me.

I am having this issue as well.  Crucial 1tb drive also.

Unfortunately I do not believe there is any way to avoid this except to avoid Crucial drives in the first -lace.     It is an artifact of the firmware on the drives and apparently Crucial have mo intention of fixing it.
