Poilki
Hey there! I got an Ironwolf Pro 16 TB as a parity drive for my first unRAID build. When starting it makes a lot of noise, and when running (array not even started) it continously makes a head movement sound every second. I could still send it back. I guess I should, right? S.M.A.R.T. looks good (did an extended test). I made two videos: Starting: https://vimeo.com/384354459 Running: https://vimeo.com/384353922 (you see the M1015 LED corresponding to the sound) Thanks for your opinions! Edit: so what I gathered from reddit it seems that others' Ironwolf Pros are doing the same thing, but not all of them. I am inclined on keeping it. SMART before extended test ("immer bestanden" means "always passed"): SMART after extended test (16 TB read, "immer bestanden" means "always passed"): Edited January 13, 2020 by Poilki Quote Link to comment
