kysdaddy
Help? I was told that I could add an additional cache drive just like adding an additional pool drive. It did not seem to work. and unfortunately my appdata was stored and backed up on cache. As of now I have no dockers, and it looks as though the appdata backups that the system said was on disk 3 were on cache. is there any way to get the system to accept the original cach drive? it was not formatted. You can only if current cache was btrfs, you can't with for example xfs, if it was btfs please post diags: Tools -> Diagnostics Quote Link to comment
kysdaddy
Thanks I fixed that problem, Did some more searching and found the thread that said change slots back to 1. I now need to make sure that my cache share setting are correct.I think. I have orange warnings on all of my shares saying that they are unprotected. Chas Quote Link to comment

kysdaddy
So how do I add additional cach. When I do an appdata backup, it is saving on cache. I think that the Yes in cache setting is the issue but I'm not sure Quote Link to comment
itimpi
Having Yes would initially save it to the cache, but when mover kicks in copy it to the array. what you probably want to do is manually run mover to get the backup files onto the array, and when that completes change the Use Cache setting to No. Quote Link to comment

kysdaddy
It says it is, however the last check was aborted, should I run a check? Quote Link to comment

kysdaddy
tower-diagnostics-20200114-0706.zip I started the parity check last night, it is still running but it does show a failed drive. CHas Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Disk17 is disable, so all shares on the array are currently unprotected (if another disk fails). Quote Link to comment
kysdaddy
How do I remove that disk, there was nothing on it? Chas Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
https://wiki.unraid.net/Shrink_array Recommend using 1st option. Quote Link to comment
kysdaddy
Thank you, I followed the instructions and the drives are removed, now in 17 hours, I'll see if it fixes my issues (parity rebuild 17 hrs) Thanks again. Chas Quote Link to comment
