January 14, 20206 yr Having just got a NetApp DS4243 Diskshelf with 2 x iom3 and 4 x PSU's cheap complete with a LSI SAS9200-16e I am now wondering what cable do I need to connect the two? Also there seems to be a lack of cooling on the DS3243, do the drives get hot? Edited January 14, 20206 yr by ridley

January 14, 20206 yr One cable only, the other IOM3 is for multipath/redundancy, only SAS drives with dual port support that and even with those you can only use one cable since Unraid doesn't support multipath.

January 15, 20206 yr Author Out of curiosity, now that I have fired the diskshelf up, are they always thus noisy?

Just a note, I had a thread on here from when I first got my shelf. You might want to read through it. It might save you a lot time, money, and frustration. If you intend on staying down your current path, I have dual IOM6's for sale if you're interested. Also the NetApp HBA and QSFP cables.
July 6, 20205 yr Hi, have you managed to connect everything? Can you please post a description/pics? I'm struggling with the same problem...
